So, along with an insane exercise program I have just begun, I have decided to start my hobby of baking. Now, I’m only talking about making a Bundt cake every so often or a coffee cake to take to work or such. I’m not talking about changing professions or starting the next Nabisco, because I [...]

Somebody told me that is getting harder to spend your money without getting angry. I agree. How sad is that? We put up with so much lame customer service that it’s become the standard that companies aspire to.
I mean, why don’t we boycott companies that outservice their customer service call centers (like my phone company)? [...]

I saw a client of mine the other day that really embodies what the average pet owner thinks about pet insurance… not that there was any negativity by any means. She was a very concerned and lovely young woman who loves her dog and would do anything for him. She just didn’t know much [...]

I mean, truthfully, who really likes going to the doctor? Hypochondriacs and those “Münchausen by Proxy” people are all I can think of that like it.
Right now, I’m with my family at our yearly beach trip in the Outer Banks, NC - a place as close to heaven as I can imagine. I take [...]
It is with a heavy heart that I write about the passing of Reggie, the 17 year old dachshund that has been such an inspiration to this project. When he came into the office today, it was clear that his health had taken a dramatic turn for the worse. His owner reported that [...]
My brother Jim emailed me yesterday and told me about something that was bothering him. It seems he was watching The Today Show and they had a Consumer Reports segment on “tip-offs” and “rip-offs”. What got him upset was that they really ripped up the whole pet insurance industry as a big waste of money. [...]
With some gentle prodding by our good friend Robert at Blue Ion, our website development team and internet gurus, we are starting to get the hang of blogging on a regular basis. Both AJ and I wanted to take this opportunity to thank the ENTIRE crew at Blue Ion that brought this website (and our [...]
Sometimes working on this project, we find ourselves easily distracted and surfing the net… and then, of course, we find ourselves watching funny animal clips on YouTube. Wouldn’t you know it, we found a Hilarious Cat Video that completely captures cat ownership.
We both have cats and the last 2 blogs were dog stories. You gotta watch this. [...]

Well, the story of why I’m part of making the world better through pet insurance starts with a dog named Luke… my nephew.
I was there at the rescue shelter when my sister-in-law and husband (is he my brother-in-law-second-removed?…I get confused about that sort of thing.) picked Luke. Luke was the cutest, dirtiest, craziest, and quite [...]
Probably one of the most common questions I get asked by veterinarians and clients alike is “why did you decide to start your own pet insurance company?” I have been in private practice for 12 years now and any vet will tell you that there are always a handful of clients or stories that are impossible [...]
